Successful Entrepreneurs

Do you know what it takes to plan and launch your own company? London has a strong, successful entrepreneurial base for students with thoughts of starting their own companies to emulate. This session profiles the development of three companies in different industry sectors: Attica Manufacturing (CNC Advanced Manufacturing), rTraction (Social Media Marketing) and voices.com (Internet & Media). The owners will provide background on how they got started, what they have learned and what they would do differently is they could do it all over again.

Real Life Recruiting

Five local Human Resources Professionals will discuss resume dos and don'ts and what they consider makes a winning resume. These HR Professionals represent a variety industry sectors and business size and will provide great insight on what happens to unsolicited resumes, resumes as part of a position application, how important a cover letter is, and how they screen applications.

London: Economy & Opportunities

Peter White, President and CEO of London Economic Development Corporation will be joined by a number of London's Industry sector leaders who will introduce you to London's Economy and discuss the future of business in London. This is a foundational session as it will help you navigate London's business by industry sectors and point you to resources that you can use as you research local companies. White will provide an outline of London's economy and discuss the businesses and industry sectors where you might find employment post-graduation.

This pre-conference session is for International Students here on Study Permits. At this pre-conference session, International students will:

  • Obtain information and tips from former international students who have successfully obtained employment in the London area
  • Learn about support services in London and places to network and meet Londoners
  • Discover how to make the most out of the conference sessions (including networking at the "S2B Advantage Room") and what they can achieve from the conference.
